Власти Италии решили провести у себя всемирно известный Испанский фестиваль La Tomatina.
La Tomatina — ежегодный праздник, проходящий в последнюю неделю августа в испанском городе Буньоль, автономное сообщество Валенсия. Десятки тысяч участников приезжают из разных стран для участия в битве, «оружием» в которой служат помидоры.
Фестиваль длится неделю и включает в себя музыкальные номера, ярмарку, парад, танцы и салют. В ночь перед томатным боем проводится конкурс по приготовлению паэльи. Население Буньоля составляет 9 тыс. человек, но в период празднества сюда приезжают до 40 тыс. туристов. Жилья для всех туристов в Буньоле не хватает, поэтому многие участники приезжают на поезде или автобусе из Валенсии, которая находится в 38 км. При подготовке к фестивалю владельцы магазинов закрывают большими пластиковыми щитами окна своих заведений, чтобы защитить их от предстоящего безумия, в ходе которого используется около 146 тонн помидоров.

The Italian authorities have decided to host the peacefully famous Spanish festival La Tomatina in their home country. La Tomatina — an annual celebration held in the last week of August in the Spanish city of Buñol, autonomous community of Valencia. Tens of thousands of participants come from different countries to participate in the battle, «weapon» in which tomatoes serve. The festival lasts a week and includes musical numbers, a fair, a parade, dancing and fireworks. On the night before the tomato fight, there is a paella competition. The population of Buñol is 9 thousand people, but during the festival, up to 40 thousand tourists come here. Accommodation for all tourists in Buñol not enough, so many participants come by train or bus from Valencia, which is 38 km. In preparation for the festival shopkeepers cover their shop windows with large plastic shields, to protect them from the coming madness, during which about 146 tons of tomatoes are used.
