В этот день (5 декабря 1849 года) президент США Джеймс Полк подтвердил факт открытия золота в Калифорнии, спровоцировав тем самым золотую лихорадку 1849 года, которая продолжалась вплоть до 1855 года. Но всё началось на много раньше, неподалёку от лесопилки Саттера близ городка Колома. 24 января 1848 года Джеймс В. Маршалл, работавший на Джона Саттера, обнаружил кусочки золота в водяном колесе на реке Юг Форк Американ-Ривер. Он отнёс находку Саттеру, и вдвоём они тщательно проверили металл, подтвердив догадку о том, что это было золото. Всего за несколько лет Сан-Франциско вырос из небольшого поселения в крупный город, в Калифорнии были построены дороги, школы, больницы и церкви. Была создана система законов, а в 1850 году Калифорния официально стала штатом США, который теперь часто называют «Золотой штат».
И вот у нас есть возможность прикоснуться к этому событию и доставить динамит на базу неподалёку от той самой реки. Груз находиться на железнодорожной станции Тукумкэри, штат Нью-Мексико.

В противном случае Вы нанесёте большой урон не только себе, но и игроку, который разгружается перед вами.

But it all started much earlier, not far from Sutter's sawmill near the town of Coloma. On January 24, 1848, James W. Marshall, working for John Sutter, discovered pieces of gold in a waterwheel on the South Fork American River. He took the find to Sutter, and the two of them carefully checked the metal, confirming the guess that it was gold. In just a few years, San Francisco grew from a small settlement to a large city, with roads, schools, hospitals and churches built in California. A system of laws was created, and in 1850 California officially became the US state, now often referred to as the «Golden State». And now we have the opportunity to touch this event and deliver dynamite to the base not far from that very river. The shipment is at the Tucumcari, New Mexico train station.
